Your choice is saved in this browser only. If you use another device or browser, or clear your browsing data, we will ask again.
1. Who we are
This website, wildfestivals.co.uk, is run by Wild Festivals Group Limited ("Wild Festivals", "we", "us"). We organise family-friendly music festivals and pop-up campsites in the UK. This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used when you visit our website.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".
Some cookies are strictly necessary: the site cannot do what you ask without them. We do not need your consent for these. Other cookies, such as the ones set by companies whose content is embedded in our pages, are switched on so the site works fully, and you can turn them off at any time.
Cookies set by us are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company, such as Google or Facebook, are third-party cookies, and that company controls them.
3. Cookies and storage we use
Our own website stores just one item, and only to remember the choice you make in our cookie banner.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Category | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wf_consent | Local storage | Remembers which optional cookies (Google Maps, YouTube, Facebook) you switched off, if any. | Strictly necessary | Until you change your choice or clear your browser data |
We do not use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
4. Embedded content (you can switch it off)
Some pages show content hosted by other companies. These services can set their own cookies and collect information such as your IP address and browser details when the content loads. This content is switched on by default so our maps, videos and reviews work. If you would rather not have it, switch it off in Cookie settings and you will see a placeholder instead, with the option to load a single item with one click.
| Provider | Where it appears | What it does | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps (Google) | Event pages, under the venue location | Shows an interactive map of the festival site. Google may set cookies to remember preferences and measure use. | Google cookie information |
| YouTube (Google) | Diesel heater and solar power guides | Plays how-to videos. YouTube may set cookies to count views, remember settings and personalise ads on YouTube. | Google cookie information |
| Facebook (Meta) | Reviews on the Information and Thank You pages | Displays public Facebook posts from our visitors. Meta may set cookies, particularly if you are logged in to Facebook. | Meta cookie policy |
5. Third-party services you choose to use
These services are only involved when you click through to them or submit a form. Each company is responsible for its own cookies and for how it handles your data.
- Fienta (ticket sales). Our event pages load a small Fienta script so ticket checkout can open on our page. When you buy tickets, Fienta may use cookies that are needed to process your order. See fienta.com for their privacy information.
- MySetup (glamping bookings). "Book glamping" links take you to our glamping partner's booking site on mysetup.uk, which has its own cookie policy.
- Brevo (newsletter). If you sign up to our newsletter, your email address is sent to Brevo, the service we use to send emails. Brevo may record whether emails are opened or links are clicked. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- Amazon (affiliate links). Our van-life buying guides include Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon sets cookies on its own website so it can tell us a sale came from our link. We earn a small commission at no cost to you, and we never receive your personal details.
- Facebook and what3words links. Links to our Facebook group or to what3words locations open those websites, which use their own cookies.
6. What we do not use
- No Google Analytics or other website analytics
- No advertising or remarketing pixels
- No profiling of individual visitors
- We never sell your data
7. Managing and deleting cookies
On our website: press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page (or the button at the top of this page) and switch each type on or off. You can change your mind whenever you like.
In your browser: you can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some websites from working properly. Your browser's help pages explain how:
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) also has plain-English guidance on cookies.
8. Legal basis
We follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
- Strictly necessary storage (
wf_consent, and Fienta's checkout cookies when you buy tickets) is exempt from consent under PECR, because it is needed to provide what you asked for. - Embedded content from Google, YouTube and Facebook is switched on by default, and you can switch any of it off at any time in Cookie settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change how our website works or if the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we add any new non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent again.
10. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your information, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
